Women in IT: Experience as an HTML coder

Whether teams are working apart or together, hybrid or remote, diversity drives #innovation. We place ourselves on fostering an equitable culture for all our global employees. So, decided to conduct a short interview with women in tech to celebrate their achievements and challenges.

Our hero is Nina Hurkova — an HTML coder who has been working at Software Development Hub for five years.🦸 🏆

What have been the most rewarding aspects of your job?

The most inspiring aspect of my work is that you can see the result instantly. It's exciting when a picture emerges from letters, symbols, and cryptic squiggles. 🙌 The best reward is when your colleagues are happy to involve you in a project.

What have been the biggest challenges you have faced in your role?

When I started working at SDH, the challenge for me was to learn how to write code so that it could be easily used by the guys who wrote the business logic. It turned out that Python and JavaScript developers have different requirements for writing HTML code. Another challenge was to adapt the web application we had already created to be actively used by people with disabilities.

How has the IT industry changed since you started working?

I only got into IT 7 years ago, but the industry moved forward. Mostly, it's a global change — artificial intelligence and blockchain development. The approach to the layout has mostly stayed the same. There are still requirements for adaptivity, cross-browser, the same "it must be beautiful" and pixel-perfect.

How do you stay up to date with the latest #HTMLcoding technologies?

50/50: reading articles and innovations in customer requirements. One pulls the other.

What advice would you give someone just starting in the IT industry?

Feel free to ask if you need to learn something. Strive for more.

Perhaps Nina's experience will encourage many girls to follow their dreams. We need more #womenintech!
